Student Planners and Homework
Student planners are mandatory for all 6th graders, and one will be provided. They are a great way to keep students organized, as well as a key means of communication between home and school. I check planners regularly to see that they are being filled out and used to share information. Students will copy down assignments in their student planner. Work that is not completed in class will become homework and will typically be due the next day, unless otherwise noted. Please work with your students to set up a homework schedule and place to work that will complement their learning styles.
Planners are another way for you to stay in contact with me. Please be sure your student's planner comes home daily, so we can make the transition to middle school as smooth as possible.
Homework folders will be provided for all 6th graders and should be carried to all classes and taken home daily with their planner.

Absences and Assignments
When students are absent, it is their responsibility to get any missing work. The best place to look will be Google Classroom. I will also set aside a place for them to find the needed information and they are welcome to ask questions of myself and their peers. With nearly 200 students each day, I must encourage each of them to take initiative n their own. Students will be given one additional day for each day absent to turn in assignments.
